Small Urban Contemporary Garden, Sawbridgeworth Essex

Our clients were looking for a low maintenance garden to suit their new home, interesting on the eye with interesting shapes and features.

These new build homes were built on the site of an old carpark and so the soil quality was poor, filled with hardcore and rubble. We excavated 450mm and replaced the planting areas with quality topsoil. We used artificial lawn for it’s low maintenance quality and this overcame the poor soil problem.

The garden was planted with a mixture of grasses for structure and softer perennials.

We maximised the small space with raised planters and bespoke seating. Corten steel decorative panels screened the shed and created a convenient space for dustbin storage.
